No More Room in Hell 2 Lewiston Map Guide: The Open-Streets City Run
Lewiston is the dense Maine city map from the Reanimation era — and the most exposed run in the game. Squads start in one of two barricaded stores with randomized layouts and work objectives across open streets with far less cover than any other map. Where Power Plant rewards patient wilderness routing, Lewiston punishes every loud second on pavement.
What defines the map
- Randomized store starts: your opening loot and exits differ run to run — sweep the whole store before stepping into the street.
- Open streets, thin cover: hordes have sightlines. Suppressed weapons and noise discipline (see the weapons database) matter more here than anywhere.
- Known objective chain: the recorded landmarks are the train tunnel puzzle, the chapel (1.0 added a bio-scanner to open it during the hard-drive retrieval), the library hard-drive upload, and the train extraction — with finale-area gates that must be powered before they open (a 1.0 change; EA squads used to slip through early).
What 1.0 changed
- Blocked the unintended pathways that let squads speedrun the map — routes that worked in EA videos are walled now.
- Adjusted the train tunnel puzzle and improved zombie flow through it.
- Extended the library upload holdout slightly — plan a real defense, not a tap-and-run.
- Finale gates now need power first; the extraction cinematic and window-vault bugs were cleaned up.
- A long-standing performance drain on Lewiston (audio piling up as players retraced streets) was fixed in the 1.0 optimization pass — if the map stuttered for you in EA, retry it.
Run advice
- Treat streets as checkpoints between interiors: plan the next doorway before leaving the last one.
- The library holdout is the loudest mandatory beat — barricade approaches and save throwables (a Molotov across the entrance carries the extended 1.0 timer).
- Quiet Steps and stamina skills from the skills tier list earn more on Lewiston than on any wilderness map.
