No More Room in Hell 2 Error Fixes: Can't Join Squad, QoS, Crashes

The 1.0 console launch tripled the player pool overnight, and connection issues are launch week's most-searched problems. Quick triage below — each fix ordered from most to least likely to work, based on what the community and the official channels have confirmed.

Before anything else

Performance expectations, honestly

Even after the Road-to-1.0 optimization pass, dense hordes dip frames on recommended-spec machines. If you're near minimum spec (GTX 1650 / 12 GB), the intended experience is 1080p/30 on Low with Performance Super Sampling — matching the official targets, not a bug. Nightmare's fog is the heaviest scene in the game.

Fixes by error

Why can't I join my friend's squad?

Work through: 1) same platform version — all platforms cross-play, but everyone needs the current patch; 2) restart the game fully (squad invites are session-bound); 3) one player relogs and re-sends the invite; 4) check server status on the official Discord. Launch-week squad bugs were the single most reported 1.0 issue.

What does "could not determine QoS settings" mean?

The game couldn't reach its matchmaking quality-of-service endpoints — almost always network-side. Restart the game, then your router; disable VPNs; if on strict NAT, enable UPnP. It usually clears on retry during server load spikes.

How do I fix Easy Anti-Cheat error 30005?

CreateService failed = EAC service issue. Verify game files on Steam, run the EAC installer from the game folder (EasyAntiCheat/EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe → Repair), make sure security software is not blocking the service, then reboot.

The game keeps crashing or stuttering — what helps?

Update GPU drivers first (post-1.0 drivers matter for UE5 titles), cap frames to your monitor rate, lower Super Sampling quality, and give the shader compilation on first launch time to finish. 12 GB RAM is the real minimum — close browsers on 16 GB systems.

Voice chat / mic is not working — settings to check?

In-game: voice chat enabled + correct input device + push-to-talk bind. OS: check the platform privacy/mic permission (Windows Settings → Privacy → Microphone). On consoles, party chat can capture the mic away from game chat.

I'm stuck in the map geometry — is there an unstuck option?

Yes — 1.0 added an official Unstuck feature. Trigger it manually from the pause menu (it requires 30 seconds with no actions or movement, to prevent gameplay abuse) and you teleport back to your last respawn point. Falling through the map triggers it automatically. On EA-era builds this didn't exist, which is why older threads say there's no fix.

I crashed mid-match — is my Responder gone?

Not immediately. Match Reconnect (added in 0.7.0) detects crashes and disconnects, puts your Responder into an invisible, invulnerable state, and holds them for about 2 minutes. Relaunch and rejoin within that window and you continue the run; 1.0 also added a Reconnect option when the crash happens during map load.
